See https://github.com/fenrir-naru/GPD_Pocket-mods/tree/master/internal_usb_hub for the design. I ordered this from PCBWay (https://www.pcbway.com) using these details: Board: Product No. : xxxxxxxx GerberFile : gerber.zip Board Type : Single PCB Panel Way: Size : 98 x 24 mm Quantity : 20 Layers : 2 layers Material : Flexible adhesive Thickness : 0.13 mm Min Track/Spacing : ≥ 0.1mm Min Hole Size : 0.2 Solder Mask : Yellow Silkscreen : White Gold fingers : No Surface Finish : Chemical gold (ENIG) Via Process : Finished Copper: 1 oz Cu(35μm) Additional Options: Manufacturing : Please check the different stiffener thicknesses. Assembly: Product No. : xxxxxxx BOMFile : intusb_bom.xls GerbersFile : gerber.zip CentroidFile : 3 flexible options : Turnkey Quantity : 20 No. of Unique Parts: 14 No. of SMT Parts : 14 No. of Through-Hole Parts : 0 Board type Single pieces Assembly Side(s) Single Side Assembly request Manufacturing : Note that the connection to the Keyboard PCB turned out to be too loose. The PCB with stiffener was 0.2 mm thick, where you need something around 0.3 mm. Some household sticky tape did the trick for me. You could try to order it with 0.2 mm stiffener instead of 0.1 mm. You need to give them these files: gerber.zip the basic design intusb_bom.xls bill of materials HUB_FPC.mnb pick-and-place for bottom layer (empty) HUB_FPC.mnt pick-and-place for top layer The pick-and-place format they asked for looked different (some additional reference coordinatees), but the files I sent per mail got accepted. I just exported them from Eagle after loading Fenrir's schematic. I also separately had a testing board produced, after Fenrir provided the design under https://github.com/fenrir-naru/GPD_Pocket-mods/tree/master/internal_usb_hub/jig . Just upload he gerber file to one of the many sites offering PCB production and get yourself these parts: FPC socket Panasonic AXE510127 USB socket Hirose ZX62-B-5PA Ordering the board fully assembled was too expensive for my taste. With a hot air gun, possibly some magnifying glasses, and a steady hand, it is manageable. Just be careful not to destroy the flimsy FPC socket with too much pressure on the plastic. Have fun, Thomas (sobukus)
